Insurance explained

Before your first insurance conversation

A few useful things to gather before speaking with your broker.

PABL introductory guide · 3 minute read

Start with your circumstances

Think about what you want to protect, who depends on it and what has changed recently. Your broker can ask better questions when they understand your priorities.

Gather the information you already have

Existing policy documents, renewal dates and basic details about your property or business can be useful. You do not need every answer before making an initial enquiry.

Make a list of questions

Ask about what is covered, important exclusions, excesses, conditions and the information you need to disclose. If a term is unfamiliar, ask for an explanation.

Use the right channel for documents

For an initial website enquiry, a short description is enough. Ask the team how to share sensitive documents securely before sending them.

This guide provides general information. It is not a recommendation of a particular policy or confirmation of cover. Speak with our team about your circumstances.
